A LP vinyl record jacket, sometimes referred to as a record sleeve/cover, is the outer covering of a vinyl record. A record sleeve can be made of paper, cardboard, artboard..., can be acid-free or anti-static and also contain an inner liner (polylined). A record jacket can be full or have a die-cut round center hole for viewing the labels without having to remove the record from the sleeve. What is the term LP Records in Jackets? Occasionally people get confused by vinyl sleeve and vinyl jacket, but actually they are two different things. The sleeve is referred to an white or black paper inner sleeve poly lined to hold the vinyl record. The vinyl jacket, like an outerwear, is outside most packaging, using 350gsm board stock, full printed on both front and back. When you choose to add a color printed cardboard jacket, it will give you room to show your art or a great way to insert a poster or lyrics.
